Your time builds more than homes - it builds futures

There are many ways to get involved, whether you want to join us at community events, support ReStores, or help behind the scenes. Some roles are one-time opportunities, while others are ongoing. No matter how you choose to volunteer, your time and skills will help more families find safe, affordable housing.

2026 Summer Volunteer Positions

This summer, make your time count. We are looking for volunteers to join us from June to September, 2026. Whether you love working with people, building things, or telling stories, we have a role for you.

Applications close June 30, 2026. Don't miss your spot!

  • Location: Greater Vancouver Area | Type: Volunteer

Love the energy of a great event? Help us create memorable experiences that raise funds and awareness for affordable housing. No two events are the same, and neither are the ways you can contribute.

You will: Support event setup and teardown, greet and direct attendees, assist with registration and on-site logistics, provide administrative support pre- and post-event, and help ensure the venue is left in great shape.

You bring: A positive attitude, willingness to work as part of a team, availability for specific event dates (including evenings and weekends), and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Location: Remote (Greater Vancouver) | Type: Volunteer | Commitment: Up to 4 hrs/week

Love turning data into decisions? Help Habitat GV understand what's working and where we're headed. You'll build the dashboards our team relies on to drive fundraising, retail, and community impact.

You will: Identify key metrics with the Fundraising and Communications Manager, consolidate data from Shopify, RaffleBox, email, and social platforms, and build clean dashboards in Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.

You bring: Proficiency with data visualization tools, ability to pull and clean data from multiple sources, and a talent for translating numbers into plain-language insights. Familiarity with Shopify, Keela, or Mailchimp is an asset. No nonprofit experience required.

  • Location: Remote + occasional in-person in Greater Vancouver | Type: Volunteer | Commitment: Up to 4 hrs/week

Video-first storyteller? Help Habitat GV bring the human side of our work to life on Instagram and Facebook - one reel at a time.

You will: Produce 1–2 short-form video pieces per week (reels, stories), collaborate with the communications team on briefs and messaging, capture footage at occasional events or build sites, and contribute to monthly marketing strategy sessions.

You bring: Hands-on experience creating reels or short-form social video, a strong visual eye, and the ability to work independently to deadlines. Proficiency with CapCut, Premiere, or similar is an asset.

  • Location: Remote (Greater Vancouver) | Type: Volunteer | Commitment: Up to 4 hrs/week

Know your way around Shopify? Put those skills to work for a cause that matters. Help Habitat GV grow our online ReStore and reach more customers - funding homes in the process.

You will: Manage and optimize our Shopify store (listings, tagging, descriptions, searchability), strengthen our Facebook–Shopify integration, improve the online shopping experience, and contribute e-commerce expertise to monthly marketing strategy discussions.

You bring: Strong working knowledge of Shopify and e-commerce best practices, including SEO and conversion optimization. Experience with Facebook Commerce Manager is a strong asset. Ability to communicate clearly with a non-technical team.

  • Location: Burnaby, Langley, Abbotsford or Chilliwack | Type: Volunteer

Are you a people person who loves community? Join our ReStore team as a Front of House Volunteer and help create a welcoming shopping experience while directly supporting affordable housing in Greater Vancouver.

You will: Greet and assist customers, merchandise and organize the sales floor, process transactions using a POS system, and share Habitat's mission with shoppers.

You bring: Strong customer service skills, comfort in a retail setting, and availability for a regular schedule that may include weekends. No experience required - just a friendly attitude and a passion for community.

Love building things? Turn donated furniture and fixtures into sale-ready treasures. As a Product Assembler, your hands-on skills help fund safe, affordable homes.

You will: Assemble and refurbish donated items including furniture, cabinetry, and fixtures; repair pre-loved products; maintain a tidy workspace; and follow safety protocols.

You bring: A passion for DIY or woodworking (experience an asset, not required), comfort using hand and power tools, and attention to detail. Weekends may be required.

Handy and mechanically inclined? Help ensure donated electronics, appliances, and hardware are safe, functional, and ready for resale — directly supporting Habitat's mission.

You will: Test and repair donated products, clean and refurbish items, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain accurate repair records, and collaborate with ReStore staff on pricing and floor placement.

You bring: Experience with product repair and a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Weekends may be required.

  • Location: Burnaby ReStore | Type: Volunteer

Do you like to roll up your sleeves and get things done? Our Warehouse Assistant volunteers are the backbone of our ReStore operations — keeping donations moving from the truck to the sales floor.

You will: Receive and process donated building materials, furniture, and décor; assist with unloading and loading trucks; sort and organize inventory; and maintain a clean, safe warehouse.

You bring: Strong organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet, and availability for a regular schedule that may include weekends.
