Youth Skills

OVERVIEW

The Youth Skills Program is a hands-on training initiative designed to equip young people aged 16-29 with practical skills and confidence for future careers in construction and the skilled trades. Over the course of the program, participants receive training in site safety, first aid, deconstruction, tool mastery, and forklift operation, all under the guidance of experienced staff, mentors and industry professionals.

Delivered in partnership with local school districts and post-secondary institutions including Burnaby School District SD41, BCIT, and North Vancouver School District #44, the program gives youth the opportunity to work with real materials, build real projects, and make a real impact. Items crafted by participants, from picnic tables to storage sheds, are made from salvaged materials and sold at our ReStores, with proceeds funding affordable housing.
