OUR BUILDS
Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver (HFHGV) was established in 1995, serving communities from Mission to Squamish. For nearly three decades, we have worked alongside volunteers, corporate partners, and generous donors to build safe, decent, and affordable homes across the Lower Mainland, providing more than 75 families with a place to call home. All homes are built by volunteers and qualified trades under the direction of a site supervisor, and funded by individual donations, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
OUR PROJECTS
Burnaby
Our first major development began in 1999 when HFHGV purchased an acre of land in Burnaby from the BC provincial government. Over six phases, we built a 27-unit townhome community offering three and four-bedroom homes. This foundational project became home to families who otherwise could not access the housing market, with the final families moving in July 2013.
Abbotsford
Two single-family homes in Abbotsford have given Habitat families the stability and independence of homeownership in the Fraser Valley.
Richmond
Our Richmond development was completed in two phases. In May 2019, the first phase was finished, welcoming five partner families into three newly constructed units. In June 2021, the second phase was completed, three single-family homes, each with two units, bringing six additional Habitat families into their new homes.
Mission
Construction began in February 2020 on 19 three-bedroom townhomes in Mission. The first seven families moved in June 2021, with the remaining 12 families welcomed over the summer of 2022. Each home is approximately 1,400 square feet, featuring three bedrooms and a garage. This project stands as one of our largest builds to date.
North Vancouver
Our North Vancouver home is a three-bedroom plus den property, providing a Habitat partner family with spacious, affordable housing on the North Shore. This project was supported through the Baden Park development by Anthem Properties and reflects our growing presence across the Lower Mainland.
To date, safe, decent, and affordable housing has been provided for more than 75 families across the Greater Vancouver region. We continue to seek new opportunities to expand our impact and help more families secure homes, community and hope.
